Hi all,

Just to add another data point that might help - I received an interview invite from Stanford 5 hours ago. Totally shocked! Looks like they're still trickling out, so don't lose hope just yet. Good luck to everyone!

My source is close with a GSB admissions officer, and he heard it directly.

Also got an interview last night / this morning (US based). Also surprised. I have a strong background in some ways, but I've got my share of warts too. I figured I'd probably not get an invite, but if I did, it'd be a happy surprise.

To those waiting: good luck at Stanford and elsewhere! I know how stressful it can sometimes feel.
To those who've received late invites: good luck to you, too. Do you think it means anything that we got our invites in a late wave? I know, I know... Stanford says this is a myth, but it seems odd for a bunch of invites to all go out at the end.

While I'm obviously aware at how selective Stanford is, it's a bit daunting to finish my r2 application while reading about so many strong profiles getting dinged.

My 2 cents: don't take it personally, despite the application requiring you to go way deep. GSB does a bottom up build of each class, and the class profile varies year by year. As a current GSB student told me recently: "I'm fortunate I was what GSB was looking for when I applied, but I don't think the outcome would have been the same if I had applied one year before or one year after." That's Stanford.

This may sound a bit trite or disingenuous right now, but I'm confident you will all end up in the right place for you - whether that's business school or not. You all seem to be on path to great success already.

Cheers.

Another crazy thing to realize is that the dings today were the NO WAY IN HELL dings. No interview, no waitlist, just no. 760 international tech goddess? NOT EVEN A CHANCE. Ivy Goldman guy with amazing stats? No way. 770 LatinAm consultant who dabbles in art design? Don't even want to talk to you.

I will say again that getting dinged after the Stanford interview, which happened to me last year, is WAY worse. Yes, you feel validated with an interview, but you clutch your phone all day waiting for DB to call you and sink to some pretty low depths when the winning call doesn't come through. I'm not an emotional or dramatic person, but that might have been the single worst day in 2012 for me. Gut just sinks.

Thanks to the gmatclub community! and good luck to all of you!!!!

Wow! After the ding from Harvard, you finally got into the most selective school on the planet. Congratulations!

I actually got rejected almost everywhere, including job applications in the past few years... no one sees my potential, and no one was willing to listen to my story... I'll update my status soon... I just love Stanford so much now, and I won't disappoint anybody there...

We're all under a lot of stress here and a bit jumpy. No need to get uncivil - it won't change our outcome with Stanford. Few days left, so let's sit back and see what happens.

Cheers.

Let's all keep in mind that some of the candidates will be considered further - wait listed. And some wait listed candidates eventually get interviewed and some of those do get in - so even those who haven't received interview invitations may be considered later on. And while Stanford is a top school, there are other top schools, and there are lots of stories of success of people who never even attended business school ...
