Starting GMAT preparation [#permalink] New post 02 May 2014, 22:25
Hello Friends,

I am Sibasankar, finally made up my mind to prepare and appear GMAT. I am completely new to GMAT, and going through thousands of questions in my mind.
I definitely think, this is a great forum, I have registered and have been reading FAQs. Thank you very much for such great posts.

I am an IT professional from India, with 7 years of work experience. I am now nearing 30 ( am I too old to try GMAT ? :( ) and left university about 7 years ago. This makes me more nervous. Not sure if I should join some institute, get some help then do self study or the approach should be other way round. What should be the ideal preparation time ?

Can someone please guide me for initial days ?

Regards,
Sibasankar

Hi and welcome to GMAT Club!

You are not too old for the GMAT (meaning GMAC will take your money and you can take your test)

However, you are nearing the magic divide between the traditional MBA and EMBA.
Many schools cut people off around 30-33 years old (though European programs seem to be OK with as much as 35). DO your research about the programs you would like to attend (US vs. European).

P.S. It is a bit harder to study for the GMAT when you are a bit older and the college/high school math is no longer as fresh in your mind, so you will have that disadvantage going for you.

Good luck!
