Hi everyone!
I just took my first practice GMAT test from the GMAT software. I ended up scoring a 440 without knowing anything about the test, or looking in a book or anything. So regardless to say, i'm a smidge embarassed at that score
Q was 24 and V was 22
My goal is to take the GMAT in about a years time, which I know is double that than the system of 3-6 months usually prescribed. I have one of the official GMAT review books (the one with the yellow cover) that I got from B&N online for $5 during a clearance. Is this enough to start studying with then, or should I invest in a few more books as well, ones tailored specifically for Quant and Verb so I can really narrow everything down. Also, with a time table of about a 1-1.25 years, should I just use the normal study schedule but essentially just slow it down by half time? Ex: instead of studying for 2 hours a day for 4 weeks, 1 hour a day for 8.
My score goal is low to mid 700's, which I know is a HUGE jump, but I feel as though I can do it if I put forth a decent effort in studying and preparing for the exam. I want to get a great score so I can be a bit competitive at the ultra elites. Goal is Ross, HBS or Wharton; and I figure if I aim that high and fall just a little short, I'll still be getting my grad degree from a top U.
