Stick with the GMAT or switch over to the GRE? [#permalink] New post 02 Mar 2013, 00:00
I have been studying for the GMAT for a few months and I am scoring anywhere between 620-660 on it.
My very first diagnostic I only scored a 530.

I am 30 today.

My question is if I should go ahead and take a GRE diagnostic test and see how I fare on it? Or stick with the GMAT and boost my score to a 700+?

Thank You.

Also at 30 am I too old to be taking a GMAT test and applying for B-Schools?

Hi,

I will say you can try GRE test and if the colleges in which you are interested in doing mBA are ok with a GRE score then you can give GRE a shot else stick to GMAT.
Sign-up for a gmatclub study plan so that you keep yourself on track. Make friends with people who are giving gmat so that you are motivated to study and discuss.
And i guess you are never too old to do anything you are desperate to! :)
Good Luck!

you may switch.
Do consider all the factors involved though:
Whether all the schools you're interested in accept the GRE score, whether the industry in which you want to land up post your MBA looks at your GMAT score etc.
Personally, I think there is not a lot of difference between 660 and 700 and the jump is achievable. Also, at 30 you are definitely not too old. There are a lot of 30+ applicants each year.
