Columbia’s regular rolling MBA application cycle does not come to an end until April 15, 2015, which is the last day to submit your full-time Columbia GSB application. Because the admissions process at Columbia is rolling, the Admissions Committee has been allocating seats for the September 2015 class since approximately July 2014. Many candidates wonder, “Is it possible to still have success at securing a seat for the Columbia full-time program if you submit an application in the next few weeks?”
You will be happy to hear that the answer is yes! At
MBA Admit.com, we have helped many candidates gain admission to Columbia even in the last weeks of the admissions cycle.
With regard to a candidate who applies in the last month of Columbia’s admissions cycle, what does the successful applicant look like? We have enjoyed success with candidates of very varied backgrounds. From the American of Indian descent who is a highly successful entrepreneur, to the white American male from the mid-west who is working for one of the largest regional manufacturing companies, success is possible. The key is to present your candidacy in a compelling way, highlighting a wonderful blend of experiences and personal characteristics that can persuade the Admissions Committee that you will be a wonderful student.
Most top MBA programs have kept some seats available for candidates who are applying late in the admissions season, and Columbia GSB is among these. However, because the Admissions Committee has already allocated so many seats, it is imperative that you present a truly outstanding application that demonstrates that you put great thought and care into all parts of the application – from the essays to the resume to the application form. Your recommendations should also be stellar. If you intend to put forward a Columbia full-time application in the next few weeks, please take advantage of our webinars that outline MBA admissions best practices as well as techniques for successfully overriding a less-than-ideal GPA or GMAT score.
We will post some profiles soon of success stories, helping you see the profiles of candidates who applied to Columbia late in the admissions cycle and succeeded. We will update this post soon to those stories!
