Stolyar and Val are racing their sailboats from Miami, Florida to Georgetown, Grand Cayman. At 1 P.M., Stolyar passes a cruise ship that is anchored 160 miles away from Georgetown. Stolyar is traveling at 20 miles per hour. At 2 P.M., Val passes the anchored cruise ship. Val is traveling at 24 miles per hour. If they continue traveling at the same rates, when will Val overtake Stolyar ?

A. 7 P.M.
B. 6 P.M.
C. 5:45 P.M.
D. 8 P.M.
E. 6:30 P.M.

At 7pm, right? The difference of their speeds is 4 miles an hour and Solyar is ahead of Val 20 miles. therefore Val will catch Stolyar in 5hrs

Agree with 7pm

20(t+1) = 24t
t = 5
2pm + 5 hours = 7pm
