Does anyone have any recommendations for storage and moving companies?

I will be out of the country for four months and I'm looking for storage during this period. I don't have much stuff since I'm selling most of it. Everything will probably fit into a 5x5x5 cube. Should I try reaching out to the school I'm looking to join for a good quote? Will they be able to help?

Thanks!

i would just try one of the national chains for storage, u-haul, public storage, etc. that way you can go see the size of the cubes in your home city and determine which size you'll need ahead of time if you plan on storing things in your new city. for moving companies, there are literally tons of consumer opinion websites with reviews of moving companies and various tips and tricks, the city data forums will help you find companies local to particular cities if you need one for whatever reason, most quotes are all done online, etc. i don't really see a need to contact the school unless you want to inquire to see if there are any special discounts extended to their students by particular companies.

Drop me a PM - I priced all the shipping companies up three years ago. Don't trust any of the sods with a CD player without protecting the whole thing yourself though. Otherwise they were pretty great and not too expensive. I will likely be back in a few months to ship about 2000 records as I am here permanent now.
