Strategies for speeding up question solving [#permalink] New post 06 Feb 2013, 09:32
Hey guys so I've been on this site for couple weeks, there are hundreds of questions to absorb and learn which I need to. My progress may be a handful questions a day I want to increase that too maybe 50 so I can do at least 150 questions a week. Any pro tips or suggestions to get more questions on this forum done?

Thanks everyone

Hi pharm,

The number of question that you do per day is less important than what concepts you solidify and what you get out of the question that you solve. A good strategy would be to do a few questions (say 10) in one go and then analyze them thoroughly. When you are done analyzing you should be able to have and understanding on:

-- What topic does the question tests
-- Why an answer choice is correct/ incorrect
-- Whether there is a recognizable pattern which you can use in another problem
-- Is there is a better way to solve the problem

But before diving into the questions make sure that you have a good understanding of the basic quant and verbal concepts.

To answer this question I would say that you utilize all the resources at your disposal to the best possible way. The best way would be to use combination of Books and the forum. The most important books being the Official Guides - OG12, OG13, Verbal and quant review guides, GMATPrep tests.

To kick start your prep I would advise that you download the and take the first GMATPrep test before you start preparing for the test to understand your starting level. Once you get the base level you can set intermediate and final targets towards your desired score. I have found goal setting to be a vital part while preparing for GMAT. If you have a question or need any advise, just post it in the forum.

All the Best for your GMAT
