Hello Folks,

Wanted to start this thread for internationals who may be worried that their visa cannot be secured on time....

have a few questions.

1. once admitted how long does the university take to snd an i20.
2. how long does it take to get a Visa once the I20 comes.

I am pretty sure that the University can issue the I-20 and ship it within a week, at least in my case that is how it is. The problem is the US consulate, depending on which country you are located in is how long it could possibly take. I am from Mexico, and once I have my I-20 I can schedule an appointment within 2 days at the consulate, and then receive my visa within 10 business days. However I have heard from people in other countries that it may be more complicated than that. If you log into the consulate page and then select which country the consulate you would go to is in you can get more information and estimated times. Hopes this helps.....

Good questions. I'm in the same boat.
