students born outside US vs. international students [#permalink]

Hi folks, I'm looking at Tuck's 2008 class profile ( http://www.tuck.dartmouth.edu/pdf/t08-class-profile.pdf) and noticed that they distinguish between % of class born outside US and international students... International Students: 35% Students born outside US: 36% I'm curious about how they distinguish between the two categories...Are international students just non-US citizens? Cheers, ac.

you got it. for example, i am a U.S. citizen but i was born outside the United States. I am "born outside the U.S." but not an "international student".

Does this mean that they only have 2-3 (1%) students that are US Citizens that were born outside the USA? That's shockingly low, if so.

That's good to know  given that the difference between the two is so low, why would they call it out? I don't think most schools do that...
