Hey guys,
I have just begun studying for the GMAT and have scheduled my test for August 27th. Hopefully this will give me enough time to score a 710+.
I did take the GMAT a few years ago but I didn't study at all and just walked in and took it without any prep due to a deadline that I was trying to make. Got a low score on that one but was good enough to get into the program that I wanted but now it is time for me to apply to a top program and I need to do this right this time!
The materials that I purchased were the
Manhattan GMAT Complete Prep Set with the
Advanced Quant and Ebook access.
This package included: Complete strategy guide set 6th edition,
the official guide to the GMAT, GMAT foundations of math and verbal, test simulation booklet, and then the online resources (6 test, 9 question banks, foundations homework banks, and gmat navigator)
I took the practice CAT without the IR and scored a 570 Q37 V31 and I had about 10-15 minutes left in each section. On my previous official test I scored a 4.0 AWA and a 6 on IR so I'd assume I'm somewhere along those lines at the moment.
Today I'm going to go through my practice test and create an
error log and then I will start reading both of the foundation books.
After I do that though, I'm a little confused (intimidated) on what the next steps should be! This package has sooo much material that there are so many different ways I can go about this. I definitely want to brush up on my foundations just in case, which is why I wanted to start with that but if anyone has any suggestions or better methods for the material that I have purchased, I would love to hear them. I've been reading through the forum and have read some great advice but there is just so much information that it is hard to consolidate.
Hopefully my goals are realistic as this MBA application is incredibly important to me. This is the first time I've joined a forum with the goal of defeating a test and this is also the first time that I've made studying for a test outside of school a priority for me.
Good luck to everyone taking the test!
