Question Stats:

100% (00:00) correct 0% (00:00) wrong based on 1 sessions
Sorry to bug you guys, I've got my test tomorrow and was hoping to figure this one out as I was almost certain I had the right answer but apparently I missed something.

I treated this as a weighted average question and got to 27.5 and rounded to 28, but gmat prep claims the answer is 26.

In city driving = 10 miles, gas used = 10/25 gallons
On highway driving = 50 miles, gas used = 50/40 gallons

Avg. miles per gallon = (10+50)/(10/25+50/40) = 60/1.65 = 36.36

So nearest possible answer = 36
