Stupid Question: Admissions essay. [#permalink]
14 Apr 2008, 13:08
This is probably a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway.
I'm submitting my application along with the neccesary essay which outlines my career history and future goals. I'm wondering how to address the letter in an online application. Did you put an actual header on it with school name, address, etc. Also, did you simply put: "Attn: Admissions Committee", or something more personal?

I do not quite understand, what letter do you mean, usually online application does not require any additional letters to be sent.

If you're referring to the cover letter required by MIT Sloan, I think it's supposed to start with "Mr. Garcia,..."

What I'm referring to is the essay (statement of career goals) that must accompany the application. It's basically an essay (I presume most BSchools require this).
My question is, how do I preface the letter.... do I simply just start the essay..... or do I start it like a formal letter in the header with the Schools Address, and a formal greeting?

could you point us to the school you're applying to and the official "essay question" page? I'm still not clear what this "letter/essay" is. Every school requires some form of essays, and you just write the essay to answer the essay question asked. Unless it asks for a "letter" like in the MIT application essays, you probably don't need to write it like a letter.
