suitability of an MBA program [#permalink] New post 04 Aug 2008, 02:26
Friends,

Based on your analysis, could you please let me know your feedback on the suitability of an MBA program for me?

Profile

• Age: 34
• Exp: 9 years and 8 months
• Industry:
o First 5 years in IT – Programmer to Project Manager
o Last 4+ years – Strategy Planning
o worked as senior manager in strategy planning group at one of the top Indian firms in IT services
o currently working as a general manager responsible for corporate development, m&a and strategy planning for a start-up IT products company

• Married with two kids

While I understand that there are lots of aspects (like career goal, aspirations etc), I would like to check with this forum whether pursuing MBA is a good investment to make at this point in life.

I checked the stats from few schools (on age and experience) and the results are not very promising.

Thanks

Can you share what your short-term and long-term career goals are? I think that would give people a better idea of what programs to recommend to you.
