Tailoring the AWA to a specific target school? [#permalink] New post 02 Jul 2011, 18:31
Given that the adcom often reads the essays, is there a benefit to tailoring the AWA to a specific school (if applicable)?

I understand it may jeopardize your chances with a secondary school, but if you're going all in for a specific institution does it make sense to go this route?

Thanks.

from what ive heard they dont usually read it, they have enough to read as it is, why would they care what you have to say on some random topic?
second, how would you even taylor a analysis of an argument to a b school?
Fast food is making americans obese...

Interesting idea.
The usual school of thought is not to worry about it at the same time, it may have some merit since ad coms are resisting the admissions consultants and trying to figure out ways to level the playing field. My suggestion would be to put effort into it but not perhaps spin it too much... does it make sense?
