Take the GMAT in 10 days or re-schedule it? [#permalink] New post 18 Dec 2012, 11:03
I am currently scoring a 670 on Kaplan CATs and a 650 on MGMAT CATs.
On Kaplan CATs, my Verbal score is lower than my Quant and on the MGMAT CATs, my Quant score is lower than Verbal.

I haven't looked into the IR section yet and I haven't given a full test including the Essay & IR yet.

I have exactly 9 days to go. Should I postpone the exam or should I give it anyway? I would like to get a 720+ on actual T-Day.

Thanks for reading and for your responses.

You want 720+ but you are getting scores lower than that. The choice is simple, postpone it. But before doing that ask yourself these few questions :-

1. Have you prepared enough ? Are there topics which you have not covered yet ?
2. Are you pressed for time and the deadlines for your dream school are approaching ?

If answers are NO then you must postpone your test. I believe its always easier the first time. I postponed my own test and I am glad that I did so.

Hi,

In this case, I would agree with harsh6239. As long as you can afford the extra time in postponing the exam, it is a good idea to postpone until you are scoring in the range you would like. However, you should take a very systematic approach to preparing from here. Make sure the take some full length tests in addition to you other prep. You need to build up the stamina. Fatigue is one of the factors that can cause your score to drop on test day.

Best, Jonathan
