taking online courses to mitigate my low GPA...Please advise [#permalink] New post 17 Jun 2007, 22:45
Hi,

I intend to apply in first round in next admission cycle. My undergrad GPA is 2.8 …I really want to fix this problem. What can be the best way to address this issue ?…..other than explaining in optional essay.
I am thinking of taking some online courses in Accounting/Business to prove my academic ability. I am not sure How adcoms see taking courses online. Does taking courses online compensate for taking regular classes?
Any suggestions about some particular online course ?
Thank you in advance.

Dont bother with online courses. Attend a local college and ensure that u get straight As. Regular courses that require you to physically attend the classes are valued more than online courses. You can take:
- Statistics
- Calculus (to show analytical abilities)
- Accounting
- Micro and Macro Econs
- Finance

Agreed. You should really try to take courses through a local college rather than online. Schools will respect the grades you get through those courses much more.
