Tanks X and Y contain 500 and 200 gallons of water respectively. Water is being pumped out of tank X at a rate of K gallons per minute and water is being added at M gallons per minute. How much time will elapse before the two tanks contain equal amounts of water?

1) 5/(M+K) hours
2) 6*(M+K) hours
3) 300/(M+K) hours
4) 300/(M-K) hours
5) 60/(M-K) hours

Here is the equation

500 - K*T = 200 + M*T

T * (M+K) = 300

T = 300/ (M+K)

Answer A

Edited made careless mistake

Questions has answers in hour

so T= 300/(M+K)*60 = 5/M+K

haha! I made the same mistake and then I looked at it, lol, was just curious how many people overlook that. lol! By the way thanks a lot for the answer. Yes the answer is A, you guys are great :-D
