Target schools [#permalink] New post 02 Oct 2011, 21:38
I see a lot of references to MAcc target schools that employers hire from on this board and various other places, but i have never really seen how they are defined. Does the term "target schools" refer to Something like the top 25 programs, top 10 programs, or some other criteria that varies by employer?

Generally Target Schools are schools the Big 4 firms (and the mid tier firms) are focusing on recruiting on students. The firms don't have infinite resources. Based on the employees who work at that office and the relationship, they may only select a few schools in a state to target and interview candidates. Any other schools that the Big 4 is not going to interview on campus/recruited the students there are probably not going to be hired by the Big 4. Generally the top 25 in the PAR rankings is a good place to start, but each individual office has its preferences.
