Target Schools Requd [#permalink] New post 23 Jul 2004, 07:07
Hi
I want to target top 15 US B schools, I had few admits this year from Arizona State Univ, Richard Ivey (Canada), Rochester, Manchester. And had reject from UCLA (was R3 applicant) and reject from ISB (Indian School of Business)
But I left those all coz I was not convinced with the rank of these schools and in Ivey I did not get any help with loans.
So now I want to apply to top 15. And here are my stats.
5+ Years of IT work Exp in companies like Infosys, Oracle.
Indian By nationality.
UG from IIT (one of the top 5 engg institutes in India)
UG percentage is 68%
GMAT 710 AWA 5.5
Toefl 260

Please help me find out 5-6 target B-schools to which I should apply.
Thanks in advance...

Which schools you should target heavily depends on what you want to do after b-school. Do you plan on staying in tech? Then a school like Sloan or Purdue is an obvious choice. If you want to go into finance, then Columbia, Wharton, and Chicago come to mind first. It really depends on what you what you plan on doing after you graduate.

Hi
Thanks for the reply, I would like to do software services/product marketing initially and then I want to open up my own consultancy.
Please now let me know some choices.

Your most obvious choices would be Sloan, Purdue, Maryland, Haas, Vanderbilt, and U. of Texas. Those are the first ones that come to mind. But definitely research the schools yourself. Don't base yoru life decisions on what some quack on a message board says. :-)
