Teaching Assistant/Faculty Associate as an entrant into PhD [#permalink] New post 16 Jan 2012, 10:15
I recently did a MBA from a mediocre MBA institute and have been working at a commercial bank for the past 6-7 months now. Its not working out that great and I am longing to get back into academic institute again and hopefully get into academics as a professor. Recently, I got a job as a Teaching Assistant into one of the best schools of the country in the area of finance and economics and was wondering if this is a particularly good (or tried and tested) way to get into a full time Ph.D course in business (hopefully in the USA).

Can anyone here provide any tips on such a shift - from the financial sector to TA? Has anyone else here done such a thing?
