Team A, B, C and D each play once with each other.
3 points are awared for citory
1 for draw
0 for defeat
The table looks as follows

B ==> 7 points
C ==> 4 points
A ==> 0 points
D ==> 0 points

How many games are yet to be played in the tournament??

Total number of games to be played 4C2=6
Each team will play 3 games


A B C D
A x 1 3 3 A has played will rest of three teams 2 win 1 draw

B 1 x 3 ? B has played 2 games 1 win 1 drwaw

C 0 0 x ? c has played 2 games both lost

D 0 ? ? x D has played 1 game lost

Distinct games played AB, AC, AD, BC total 4 games

ned to play 2 more games CD and BD

What concept is this question testing?

AXD

BXC

BXD

CXD

B has 7 points, which means it has won 2 ( 3 points each ) games and one draw ( 1 point ). Which means B has already played all it's three games.

BXA, BXC, BXD

C has 4 points, which means it has won one game ( 3 points ) and one game was draw ( 1 point ). it has yet to play the it's third game.

CXA, CXB, CXD


AXD also has not been counted above.

Therefore the remaining games are

one remaining game for C ( CXA or CXD ) and the game (AXD)

Thus the answer should be remaining games are "2"

so 4 games played and 6-4=2 left
