Technological progress makes economic growth and widespread prosperity [#permalink]
Answer is D as i think ..
The whole passage is realated mainly to worker's satisfaction and a little bit about the economic prosperity due to technilogical progress.
And the main theme is of the argument is govern only by option D.
Option A,B,C,E talks more about what doesn't give any relation to the argument of author .Quality realtion is given nowhere in the argument with the technological progress and similar with B,C,E .

D.
Due to technological progress makes workers' skill less crucial.
Now roles are less crucial so less satisfaction.

Quote:
Technological progress makes economic growth and widespread prosperity possible; it also makes a worker’s particular skills less crucial to production. Yet workers’ satisfaction in their work depends on their believing that their work is difficult and requires uncommon skills. Clearly, then, technological progress ______

Which one of the following most logically completes the argument?

(A) deceases the quality of most products
(B) provides benefits only to those whose work is not directly affected by it
(C) is generally opposed by the workers whose work will be directly affected by it
(D) cause workers to feel less satisfaction in their work
(E) eliminates many worker’s jobs

arg
=tec prog enables growth and prosperity;
=it also makes wrk's skills less crucial to prod;
=wkr's satisfac deps on their belief that their skills r necessary;

con
(A) not stated
(B) wrk's might feel less satisf but they can still benefit!
(C) not stated
(E) not stated

ans (D) it does cause workers or at least some to feel less satif - if this was false, then the arg falls.
