Technology Specialization MBA Programs? [#permalink] New post 19 Feb 2013, 09:30
Hi all,

Looking for some good tech specific MBA programs out there. I feel like stumbling around each school's site that I'm interested in is less efficient than seeing if there are any standouts people here know of.

What I'm looking for - I'm extremely impressed with MIT's LGO program but feel like it's a bit manufacturing focused for my specialty. Looking for that operations perspective but more of a digital supply chain/enterprise frameworks approach. In example I'm more interested in Amazon's cloud services platform delivery to corporate consumers than the aspect LGO seems to partner with which is their consumer goods.

Schools that are on my radar now:
Sloan (MIT)
Haas (Berkeley)
Stanford (Stanford)
Tepper (Carnegie Mellon)
Tuck (Dartmouth)
Fuqua (Duke)
McCombs (UT Austin)
Wharton (UPenn)

Thanks!

If you like MIT LGO, take a look at Kellogg MMM and Ross Tauber programs. Tauber won't get you another Masters degree like LGO and MMM, but you'll get a really strong operations/ supply chain focus. If you're interested in tech specifically, I know Northeastern has a tech MBA.

MIT LGO is very traditional operation/supply chain focused, although I’m sure the knowledge would transfer well to the digital domain.
It sounds like you are more into the technology industry (electronic) than a specific function within the industry. If that is the case, one of the biggest factors you should consider is the proximity of the school to the technology hub.
Silicon Valley and Austin are locations for that.

The Georgia Tech TI:GER program is less known, but actually really unique and was a primary motivation for me to apply: http://tiger.gatech.edu/index.html
