Tell me about yourself??? [#permalink]

I find "Tell me about yourself" as the toughest interview question!
As in, I am confused about what I should tell the interviewer...
Should I start with undergrad and almost walk through my resume or talk about strenghts, characteristics etc?
Is this a good answer:
1) I come from XYZ place/family
2) Undergrad: Which university, course, passion/reason behind it
3) Job history: Achievements, learnings, reasons behind major decisions
4) Current job role
5) Apart from work, Involved in community, sports etc.
If so, how different is this question from Walking through the resume? If not, how should I approach this question?
Please help me with this. I have my Darden interview tomorrow!

I think you've got a good outline there. I always approached it as a "big picture" question where I touched on several areas (where I'm from, which undergrad/why, first job/why, hobbies), but I never went into too much detail. Being concise can help provide a lot of info in a short amount of time, and it also doesn't prevent you from going into much more detail in a later question e.g. "what do you do in your free time?". You don't want to have already answered that in great detail in the "tell me about yourself" question.
Although there's definitely overlap, if you don't ramble on in the "tell me about yourself" question, you can answer the "walk me through your resume" question just fine. I think that for the latter, you should just go into more detail about your UG and job choices/experiences.
Others may have a different - and better - approach, though.
