Hello mbaMission,

How would you recommend disclosing job titles in applications for temporary positions? In the temp positions I've been placed in in the past, I haven't had an official title. In my applications, I listed a job title for one position on my resume that most accurately reflects my role and I noted that I was placed in the position by a staffing agency. Is this adequate? I feel like it may be prudent to send a short email to the adcoms to clarify that it was a temporary role and that I didn't have an official title. Thanks!

Hello goericgo, thanks for your question.

How clear do you think it is to the admissions committees that the position was a temp one? If you went as far as to mention that a staffing agency placed you, then I would think any normal reviewer would understand the situation, right? Also, if you had a long tenure in that role, then perhaps the fact that you were a temp matters less?

I would write a follow-up email only if I thought that I gave the adcoms the wrong idea of the work.
