Hi What if i forgot to ask the interviewer his mail-id but i found it on the school site and sent him a thank you note. Didn't receive an acknowledgement . Should I expect a ding ?

No one is dinged for not sending a thank you note. Some interviewers will acknowledge receiving the note while others will not, but that is typically more a product of their own nature and how busy they are and not indicative of your acceptance/rejection. It is always polite to send a thank you email of course, and to acknowledge someone else's thank you. May we all take a lesson from this and reply to all those little notes languishing in our Inboxes ;-)
