Thank you letters to interviewers [#permalink] New post 01 Jan 2011, 12:14
Hi,

For one of my interviews (Ross), I wrote down my Skype interviewer's email address wrong and wasn't able to send him a thank you message. Do you think this could affect anything?

Thanks!

No, but I do agree that a thank you note is a good idea. Why don't you contact Ross and explain what happened, which can happen to anyone? They will hopefully give you the email, but will in any case note the call.

No one is dinged for not sending a thank you note. Some interviewers will acknowledge receiving the note while others will not, but that is typically more a product of their own nature and how busy they are and not indicative of your acceptance/rejection. It is always polite to send a thank you email of course, and to acknowledge someone else's thank you. May we all take a lesson from this and reply to all those little notes languishing in our Inboxes ;-)
