Answer is D.
In A & E, the subject is ability, so plural like have is wrong. In C , accurate incorrectly modifies models. The ability has increased in accuracy, not the models.
Between B & D, D brings out the subject more effectively.

The use of like & such as is one more point that raises the ambiguity, but then maybe you have to rely on your ear. D sounds more appropriate.

In that case it must be C. Because I must have failed to realize that the models have to be accurate & ability cant be accurate. We never use accurate ability rather we use accurate models.

Now is that the correct explainaition or not?

such conditions as planetary motions......is the correct idiom when you are giving examples

Such as is correct here. A & D out

E is wrong S's ability is singular and uses have.

C is wrong as it moves the word accurate to modify models.

B is correct

I think the answer is 'B' because ability should be followed by 'has' and not 'have'.

Its a matter of grammetrical expression as well as ligical reasoning.

A. "The ability of scientists has become ever more accurate ........" is always wrong because ability cannot be more or less accurate. only scientists can be more or less able.
also "like" is wrong to list out the examples.
B. same as A.
C. Scientists have become able to provide ever more accurate models of ...... coreect.
D. Like is wrong as in A.
E. "Scientists’ ability" is pretty much similar to "the ability of scientists has become ever more accurate ........" in A and B.



Its a good question indeed.

IMO C. It could only the "models" that are accurate, not the "ability" is accurate.
