"D".....Vithal, can u explain how the sentence cud stand without the susage of "a time when", not sure I see any redundancy here. Thx !

My choice is D. The other part of the passage "to attract" was the hint that helps too.

I pick D because it's concise. But I do see "when" is suspious because "when" implies what really happened. I believe "in which" is better here since it describes a situation.

"time" is best expressed by "when"
"in which" in place of "when" doesn't seem appropiate here.

I think that "time when" is redundant - when would suffice to say something happenned in Summer - please correct me if I am wrong

I choose D. "a time when" sounds right. Also, "travel... decreases" and "the industry uses" sounds parallel.
(A) and (B) a time during which sounds wordy.
(D)'s and (E)'s "when" is better than (C)'s "in which".
(E) "... therefore etc." sounds wordy.
