The average producing cost for each of the x pencils is (50+0.5x)/x . If the cost for each pencil is $0.6, how many pencils had been produced? (50+0.5x)/x = 0.6
(50+0.5x) = 0.6x
0.6x - 0.5x = 50
x = 500
