b) did we not only see U2 but also Genesis

I chose B. However OA is D.
Please explain. Thank you.

I am afraid both are wrong. Not only…… but also is a correlative conjunction. In correlative conjunctions, what form and logic is on the right- hand side of the first arm( not only ) should be there on the right–hand side ( but also) of the second arm.

B: Not only see (not only a verb) ….. But also Genesis (but also a noun)
D: not only did we get (not only a verb) to see U2 but also Genesis (but also a noun)

The correct way of writing this will be:
B: did we see not only U2 but also Genesis
D: not only did we get to see U2 but also glimpsed Genesis (did we get is past tense verb meaning we got)

Look at the problem that you have given.

not only did we get to see U2 but also Genesis.
==> We not only got to see U2 but also Genesis.
Here, Not only + Verb..............but also + NOUN
Does it maintain parallelism? Nope.
