The corporate party took place. In the first day the guys drank 33 bottles
of vodka, everyone drank the same amount. The next day the party continued.
It should be noted that not all the staff was present, but only 13 people.
They drank all the rest bottles but everyone drank 3 times less than a day
before (but the same amount again). How many bottles the guys drank at the
corporate party?
A. 34
B. 36
C. 40
D. 46

33*1 or 11*3

Since afterwards we 13 ppl so 33*1+13*1=46

I dont feel this question is correct but still go with D

The question is not clear.
But... as per statements...
x= number of people
y= every one drank that many bottles
so,, xy=33
Also, next day..
13 people are present.
they drank.. y/3
so they drank.. 13* y/3

Summing 1 and 2,
33+ 13*y/3..
so..value of y can in 3,6...
if we look at the option..the only value it satisfies is.. y=3, and total number of people is 46.. D is the best choice

I also got D with a similar approach:

If n - number of people at the party at the first day, then 33/n - amount of vodka drunk by 1 attendee.
The next day people drand 3 times less, so 1 attendee drank (33/n)/3=11/n.
As there were 13 ppl present the next day, they drand 11/n*13.
11 and 13 are prime numbers, so n can be equal either to 11 or to 13, then the amount of vodka drunk the next day will be either 13 or 11 respectively.
33+13=46
33+11=44 (there is no answer like that, although there is a an explanation of why this answer is not suitable).

Let no of people in the party = x

Day 1 = guys drank 33 bottles, equally. Now, we dont know how many people we at the party? They could have drank half a bottle, each or a full bottle...66 or 33 # of people, respectively.

Day 2 = 13 people present. Rest of the bottles?? dont know. Actually, we dont know the total # of bottles?

I'm not able to go beyond this :s
