The defeated candidate addressed her political party tonight at the final gathering of this election year. She talked to them about the platform of her opponent and pointed out many questions he left unanswered in their recent televised debate. She concluded by listing the many defeats suffered by Abraham Lincoln before he finally was elected President of the United States. She stated that she planned to pursue her political career despite this defeat.
The method of gaining support used by the defeated candidate was to
A. attack the character of the opponent by suggesting he equivocated by not answering questions.
B. imply an analogy between her experiences and those of Abraham Lincoln.
C. point out that the opponent's claims imply a dilemma.
D. show that the opponent's unanswered questions reflect an absurd lack of preparation and knowledge.

Confused bw A and B ...
B would have been my choice on the exam. I believe A is limited in scope - she uses the unanswered questions as a point against her competitor, but because she concludes by implying an analogy with Lincoln choice B accurately sums up her overall methodology of gaining support.

definitely B. she is citing Linclon's several defeats as example. dispite many defeats, Linclon continued political career. so she is also planning top do so with the hope that she will ultimately succeed.

Will go with B. She concluded by stating an analogy. Any other choise goes too far interpreting he apponent's claims/views.

Only A and B stand any chance.
IMO B is better. Clearly the defeated candidate is trying to use Ab Lincoln's experiences to justify her actions in the future.

I'm going to go with B on this one, but I'm a bit hesitant because it seems to leave out a good chunk of the passage and focuses in on a single sentence. In the brief time that I have spent with the OG, I don't think that the GMAT sets up questions in this manner.
