The geese that gather at the pond of a large corpora-
tion create a hazard for executives who use the
corporate helicopter, whose landing site is 40 feet
away from the pond. To solve the problem, the
corporation plans to import a large number of herd-
ing dogs to keep the geese away from the helicopter.
Which of the following, if a realistic possibility,
would cast the most serious doubt on the prospects
for success of the corporation's plan?
(A) The dogs will form an uncontrollable pack.
(B) The dogs will require training to learn to herd
the geese.
(C) The dogs will frighten away foxes that prey on
old and sick geese.
(D) It will be necessary to keep the dogs in quaran-
tine for 30 days after importing them.
(E) Some of the geese will move to the pond of
another corporation in order to avoid being
herded by the dogs.

B is the only option that even has a reference to the subject at hand.
But, IMO, the most obvious problem would be that when the dogs try to herd them, the geese are going to fly straight into the copter.

I would say A....
If d ogs will form an uncontrollable pack, then they will be hazard to helicopters aswell....
training in B is no problem... you train the dogs and they solve the problem...

I was under the impression that the problem with the geese was that they potentially could fly into the chopper or interfere with landing. But, I guess there could be a danger on the land as well.
Geese - fly Dogs -don't. So, however well you train the dogs, it would be impossible to control the geese once they are airborne.

Well, those foxes did a bad job and did not prey on geese enough... since those geese still pose a problem to the company dogs will do the job and frighten away all geese

Still NO - because, the foxes are already there and the problem is present. Bringing in dogs which scare away the foxes might aggravate the problem, especially if the dogs themselves are of no use.

hik, dunno if these conflicting thoughts are to create fun
It's a straight A ....the uncontrolable pack of dogs would create another problem to the landing of helicopter.

By solving an issue, if you introduce another issue (of equal level of concern), what is the point in solving the first issue ?

Came close to A and C, but no satisfactory explantion to exclude C..... I agree that A is a strong contender but i chose C Here is my reasoning why i chose C.... if dogs frighten the foxes,it means dogs are protecting geese from foxes and so geese is still present and this could damage helicopter...........Can anyone please explain how you excluded this option????

You may be right. But think..if foxes are afraid of those dogs and are not coming to the premises, do those geese go beyond those ponds? Definitely no. So, at the most C supports the argument but does not weakens.
