The geese that gather at the pond of a large corpora-
tion create a hazard for executives who use the
corporate helicopter, whose landing site is 40 feet
away from the pond. To solve the problem, the
corporation plans to import a large number of herd-
ing dogs to keep the geese away from the helicopter.

Which of the following, if a realistic possibility,
would cast the most serious doubt on the prospects
for success of the corporation's plan?
(A) The dogs will form an uncontrollable pack.
(B) The dogs will require training to learn to herd
the geese.
(C) The dogs will frighten away foxes that prey on
old and sick geese.
(D) It will be necessary to keep the dogs in quaran-
tine for 30 days after importing them.
(E) Some of the geese will move to the pond of
another corporation in order to avoid being
herded by the dogs

I got this right , but i want to see if my line of reasoning is correct or i just got it by fluke.:)

E should be it!

Dogs are going to be imported inorder to prevent geese from flocking around the corporation pond, this main purpose is going to be defeated if the dogs drive the geese towards the pond - and there by increase the risk of geese getting in the way of the corporate heli.

Vithal, E is wrong. Other corporations are irrelevant to our question. We are concerned with the well being of the corporation in case..not with other corporations. Remember , ETS does not award or consider charity.:) You know what i mean

I go with A.

The reason they want to have dogs to 'Shoo'away the geese as they are obstacles in landing the heli ... and if dogs became uncontrolled, they will also become a obstacles.

OA?

(A) The dogs will form an uncontrollable pack.
Strong staement, if they cant be controlled why bring them?

E is tempting but the second pond may be far off,we donot know,so this can not weaken the plan.

Pardon me for the joke, but

WHY bring the dogs if they know the geese will fly to another pond ...lol...

The authorities have decided to bring, but they realise the acuse, only after they bring the dogs. Hence, we have to look at the statement, which shows the action after the dogs are brought.

A is my choice.

By POE, I find that none of the other qptions is any big challenge to the success of the plan.

I think it is A. The corporation is creating another nonsense with unmanageable pack of dogs while trying to import a large number of herding dogs to solve the current issue.

Awaiting OA 8-)

Others are clearly out of scope.

I misread the option E - that's really silly I would say! :(

Well, guess humor upon my answer is a lesson I shall remember :-)

OA is A.
I , for a while, considered C also. If some foxes are already preying on geeses..then bringing dogs which will drive away foxes could be counter productive. But on a close look.. I observed that foxes are preying on old and sick geeses who in any case wont be a threat to corporations plus foxes themselves might be a problem. Iam surprised that none of you guys discussed about this option.. or is it that I have started thinking too much whne it comes to CR questions..
God save me from overthinking..

LOL... You are speaking my words. However I guess, most of the time CR's try to make us fall into some small traps.Unless we seriously look for the potential traps, we choose a wrong choice.
