Use f that is not because of the generalisation, we need that here because of support,
without in between phrases the sentences looks like - The investigations support that

hop it helps.
dont forget the kudos

They don't support the "generalization of" -> makes it seem like they support something becoming generalized.

D is a bit redundant and wordy, but it's the best choice between D & E.

totally agree.

Secondly, that is correct here. This eliminates a,b,c
Secondly, both significantly different and significant differences are correct when alone but the phrase "there is little" determines the choice significantly different instead of significant differences. Hence D is right.

I say D because:

A) of there being- needs that, and is wordy
B) of there being- needs that, and is wordy
C) of little that- the that needs to be in front; i.e., support the generalization THAT...
D) correct
E) little of significance- wordy

In reported speech, when you introduce a theme as a generalization, then you have to introduce it with the relative pronoun ‘that’. Hence only D and E make the grade.

However, E is out because, it has a serious SV problem. When you say ‘significant differences’, i.e., in plural, then you have to use the plural verb ‘are’. In addition the use of ‘little’ for the countable ‘differences’ is wrong; you must use ‘a few’ instead.
