A. they have and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,

B. they have and will continue to perpetuate Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey s shared artistic vision,

C. it has and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,

D. it has perpetuated and will continue perpetuating the artistic vision that Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey shared,

E. it has continued to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,

Company is a singular noun, will remove options with they.

D is incorrect, incorrect reference of who.

Out of C and E

Since 1972, this indicates present perfect tense

C is talking about the future by using will- incorrect, This is not the intent.

E is correct by saying, legacy has still continued.

I chose C as opposed to OA E. Doesn't E change the meaning of the sentence by removing "will". This means they have perpetuated only until today but will not be doing so into the future.

Re: The Limon Dance Company believes that, since the death of Jose Limon [#permalink]
my evaluation of answer choices is as follows(in blue)

The Limon Dance Company believes that, since the death of Jose Limon in 1972, they have and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey, who both choreographed works in the company's active repertory.

A. they have and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,
this one has a serious pronoun error, they refers to the singular entity the company and "will continue" is not required because has shows that the action started somewhere in the past and is still continuing, it looks like we are telling the reader again and again (with the use of has and will that the action will continue)
B. they have and will continue to perpetuate Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey s shared artistic vision,
serious modifier error for "who" and same error as A

C. it has and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,
same error of will as A, moreover has continue is wrong should be "has continued"

D. it has perpetuated and will continue perpetuating the artistic vision that Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey shared,
modifier error for who, and will continue is the error

E. it has continued to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,
correct option, uses the correct form of continue and modifers are used correctly

A. they have and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey, --> "the company" is singular

B. they have and will continue to perpetuate Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey s shared artistic vision, --> same as A

C. it has and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey, --> redundant use of "has" & "will" i.e. "has continued" means " has continued & will continue"; also "has continued" is missing

D. it has perpetuated and will continue perpetuating the artistic vision that Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey shared, --> "who" should be closed to "Doris Humphrey"

E. it has continued to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey, --> correct

Re: The Limon Dance Company believes that, since the death of Jose Limon [#permalink]
KAPLAN OFFICIAL EXPLANATION

Read the Original Sentence Carefully, Looking for Errors:

When the underlined portion contains a pronoun, check to make sure the pronoun agrees in number with the noun it refers to. Here, the underlined portion begins with the pronoun "they," which is meant to refer to "the Limón Dance Company." But since the dance company is a single entity, it takes a singular pronoun. "They" is therefore incorrect. The sentence also contains the awkward and incorrect verb phrasing "have and will continue to perpetuate." The subject is the dance company, and it makes no sense to say the dance company have perpetuate or the dance company have to perpetuate .

Scan and Group the Answer Choices:

A quick vertical scan of the choices reveals a 3-2 split on the pronoun at the beginning. (A) and (B) use "they" while (C), (D), and (E) use "it."

Eliminate Wrong Answer Choices:

(A) and (B) can be eliminated because they use the plural pronoun "they," which the initial analysis revealed to be an error.

(C) can be eliminated because it continues to use the incorrect verb phrasing "it has . . . perpetuate."

(D) corrects the pronoun error and uses the grammatically correct, though wordy, "has perpetuated and will continue perpetuating." However, (D) creates a new problem at the end of the underlined portion. The phrase after the underlined portion, "who both choreographed," must refer to what came immediately before the word "who." In the original sentence, this was Limón and Humphrey. In (D), it is "shared," which makes no sense. For this reason, eliminate (D).

(E) is correct because it corrects the pronoun error, uses a concise and clear verb phrasing, and doesn't introduce any new errors.

TAKEAWAY: Look out for the commonly tested errors, such as pronouns, and apply the rules. At the same time, watch out for answer choices that correct the original error but add a new error.

E. it has continued to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,

Ellipsis is why C is wrong.
it has (continue) and will continue is what the sentence above actually means to say. But, grammatically, it has to: IT HAS CONTINUED AND WILL CONTINUE.

A, B are out because of S-V (dis)agreement.

D is just wrong on so many levels.

E is grammatically correct.

Hope the explanation helps!

This sentence is uncommonly badly written. (Companies don't have beliefs. It's redundant to use both "continue" and "perpetuate". The sentence is in the past tense, so a present-tense verb is needed in the part about "active repertory" because that's something that's true in the present.)

Is this a question? If so, I can't tell what you are asking—could you please clarify?

The future tense, by the way, is not compatible with "Since 1972". The only tense that works with that timeframe (an interval that continues into the present) is the 'present perfect', HAS/HAVE [verb]ED.

The future tense doesn't work here (see above).

"Has and will continue" is ungrammatical. This structure implies that the word "continue" is distributed to both parallel parts—giving "has continue" and "will continue".
"Has continue" is wrong.
(The same principle explains why you need, for instance, "greater than or equal to". I.e., "greater or equal to" is wrong for the same reason.)
