I chose C as opposed to OA E. Doesn't E change the meaning of the sentence by removing "will". This means they have perpetuated only until today but will not be doing so into the future.

serious modifier error for "who" and same error as A

"They" is therefore incorrect. The sentence also contains the awkward and incorrect verb phrasing "have and will continue to perpetuate." The subject is the dance company, and it makes no sense to say the dance company have perpetuate or the dance company have to perpetuate .

Scan and Group the Answer Choices:

A quick vertical scan of the choices reveals a 3-2 split on the pronoun at the beginning. (A) and (B) use "they" while (C), (D), and (E) use "it."

Eliminate Wrong Answer Choices:

(A) and (B) can be eliminated because they use the plural pronoun "they," which the initial analysis revealed to be an error.

it has (continue) and will continue is what the sentence above actually means to say. But, grammatically, it has to: IT HAS CONTINUED AND WILL CONTINUE.

D is just wrong on so many levels.

E is grammatically correct.

This sentence is uncommonly badly written. (Companies don't have beliefs. It's redundant to use both "continue" and "perpetuate". The sentence is in the past tense, so a present-tense verb is needed in the part about "active repertory" because that's something that's true in the present.)

The future tense, by the way, is not compatible with "Since 1972". The only tense that works with that timeframe (an interval that continues into the present) is the 'present perfect', HAS/HAVE [verb]ED.





The future tense doesn't work here (see above).

"Has and will continue" is ungrammatical. This structure implies that the word "continue" is distributed to both parallel parts—giving "has continue" and "will continue".
"Has continue" is wrong.
(The same principle explains why you need, for instance, "greater than or equal to". I.e., "greater or equal to" is wrong for the same reason.)
