E. the equivalent of a large stadium's (capacity)

the modifying phrase mofidies the nearest noun - maximum capacity
A seems have problem in meaning. Indicating cause-and-effect whereas its just comparision.

C would have been correct if it read:
which equals that of a large stadium.

A for me. In B and C "which" doesn't have clear reference. In D and E "the equivalent" doesn't have clear reference.
A should be right.

I agree with Duttsit. E it is.
The new resort hotel will serve 20,000 tourists at its maximum capacity, equaling the capacity of a large stadium.

A sounds like reort hotel is somehow equaling the capacity of a large stadium.

 my bad. it is a typo. OA is actually E.

in the GMAT world. equal only refers to = to sign. for example 5 plus two is equal to 7.

in rest of the cases equivalant should be used.

so A, B and C is out.

D is out because the correct comparison should be that of large stadium or of large stadium's.

so E remains and it is the only choice.

Again sorry about the typo.
