Between B and C...B is better.
C changes the meaning.
Use of 'since' is wrong in rest of the choices.

I am trying to understand the meaning of this SC.
Does it mean the book "Heat and Light is a a review of chemistry from the times of Robert Boyle to the times of new chemistry Davy visioned?

If what I understand is correct then only A makes sense.
