The number k is a three-digit integer that has A as its hundreds’ digit, B as its tens’ digit, and C as its units’ digit. If none of the three digits is 0, what is the value of 2k?

(1) A = 3B = 9C

(2)A/B=B/C

According to (1) there is only one possibility for the digits: 1 3 9
therefore (1) is sufficient.

(2) is true when ,for example, A=1 ,B=2 and C=4 but also when A=2, B=4 and C=8 -->therefore not sufficient.

correct should be A.

its A. you get B = 3; A = 9 and C = 1

statement 2: AC = B^2

so lets say B = 3

And say A= 9; C = 1

then B^2 = 9 = AC

But the relationship holds if A= 9 and C = 1 or if A=1 and C=9

so value of 2k will change with only statement 2 ---> not sufficient

A.

Following the first statement we have only one option: A=1, B=3, C=9. Sufficient.

With the second statement we have several options: A=1, B=2, C=4; A=2, B=4, C=8. Not sufficient.

Therefore, A is the answer.
