I took the GMAT this afternoon, and finished with a score of 760 Q51 V41.
Before anything else, I want to thank the founders of GMATClub for creating such a phenomenal community, and all the contributors who make it a wonderful place to be at. I'd like to thank Santanu for the soothing words of wisdom in the last few days. Mr. Bunuel is doing an exceptional work for the Quant forum. I never had much problems with Quant, and I wished there had been someone like him for the Verbal thread. (Oh! This is neither an Academy Award Winner speech nor 760 is too big a score. My apologies. ) I would return with a detailed debrief ASAP. Time to get sloshed and wasted and ... ! I have posted the debrief on the next page. The CATs : 1) PowerPrep 1 : 680 (Q47 V35) 2) PowerPrep 2 : 710 (Q49 V37) - 3) Manhattan CAT1 : 740 (Q49 V42) - 4) Kaplan Test 3 (CAT 1) (07/12/11) : 760 (Q55 V45) 5) Kaplan Practice Test 2 (Non Adaptive) (19/12/11): 720 (Q47 V43) - 6) GMAT Prep 1 (27/12/11): 760 (Q50 V42) 7) Manhattan CAT2(29/12/11) : 740 (Q50 V41) 8) Manhattan CAT3(08/01/12) : 780 (Q51 V45) - And BOOM! 9) Kaplan CAT4(17/01/12) : 700 (Q51 V36) - And DAMN ! I dropped a whole of 80 points from the last CAT. This was heart-shattering, to say the least. I cannot comprehend what went so blatantly wrong. Yes, I was rusty. CR wasn't coming that smooth. SC went carelessly awry. And my confidence, which has been sky high for most part of the preparation has hit a rock bottom like never before. I could have found some solace in assuming that Kaplan scoring is harsh, but no, I have scored much better on Kaplan, and there does not seem to be anything wrong with the scoring. And yes, I have got the date . I do not know, whether the last CAT has done me more harm than good. For now, I am clueless and struggling to connect the dots. 10) Kaplan CAT5(01/02/12) : 790 (Q54 V54) : And as they say, " Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Back in touch. Game on. Yeah! Took some more tests in the meanwhile. 11) Manhattan CAT5(15/02/12) : 770 (Q50 V45)12) Kaplan CAT6(20/02/12) : 790 (Q53 V55)22.02.12. The last practice CAT ever, hopefully that is - 13) Manhattan CAT6(22/02/12) : 780 (Q51 V45)24.02.12 10:59 am : Okay. This is it. The time arrives.

I now want to focus on 700+ level questions, particularly in Quant. I started doing questions from the last from OG12 and OG Quant review and did not find them representative enough of 700+ level. I have heard time and again that Quant on the real deal is more difficult than any of the popular material we have. So, is there a book, a collection of 700+level questions ? What level is of the 1000series (PS1000, DS1000 ) ? Any ideas, anybody ?

This post has been appended with the main post. 5) GMAT Prep 1 (27/12/11): 760 (Q50 V42) - A sigh of relief. Amidst all ambiguities of Kaplan & MGMAT, one test that felt adaptive all the way and the scores reflected the performance aptly. Plus this test tells me I'm on the right path. Had a first ever attempt on AWA, but it has disappeared and is not even available for review. Quant was good, not easy not tough. I found verbal, however, to be a little bit on tougher side than OG. Retrospection : Although 760, there is a definite scope of improvement in Quant. A few too many careless mistakes. Should hit 51, to back verbal which can betray anyday. Verbal : 5 Wrong = 2 SC, 3 CR. I usually cannot digest getting CR wrong, but this time 2 out of the three were so absurd that I cant comprehend the reasoning even after seeing the answers. Can't do much about verbal now. Hope to keep the RC this way !

@piyatiwari Appreciate the kudos. But if it's for the test scores, you probably missed the last post.

Are you talking about 700 in Kaplan test? Well, its well-known that Kaplan tests are way difficult than actual GMAT. Your MGmat and Gprep test scores are most accurate. I think you'll easily get 750+. Best wishes!

Thank you for the words of encouragement. Means a lot ! But the last Kaplan has given me the scare of a lifetime. If the real test day goes anything like that, all these test scores would bury themselves as a soon to be forgotten chapter in the vast unending history of the Gmatclub. And what would live - the real test score staring in my face for the rest of ... Okay. That got a little bit extra-melodramatic. But what I feel now is aptly described in my last post - sudden confidence crisis !

Thank you Rajeev for the advice. True that the only thing I fear now is losing my nerves on the test day; rest everything can be taken care of. Regarding 1000SC, I have that document and will use if need arises and time permits. Thank you anyways. Have you taken GMAT recently ?
