The only contents in a container are green disks, blue disks, and orange disks. If one disk is selected at random from the container, what is the probability that the disk is orange?

(1) The ratio of the number of orange disks to the number of disks that are not orange is 7 to 36 --> (orange)/(not orange) = 7/36 --> (orange)/(orange + not orange) = (orange)/(total) = 7/(7 + 36) = 7/43. Sufficient.

(2) The ratio of the number of green disks to the number of blue disks is 7 to 3, and the ratio of the number of green disks to the number of orange disks is 18 to 5 --> (green)/(blue) = 7/3 = 126/54 and (green)/(orange) = 18/5 = 126/35 --> (orange)/(blue + green + orange) = 35/(54 + 126 + 35) = 7/43. Sufficient.

Answer: D.
