The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is that it robs the human race. It takes from posterity, as well as the existing generation, and from those who dissent from the opinion even more than from those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth; if it is wrong, they lose what is almost as great a benefit: the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error.
Which one of the following best expresses the conclusion presented in the argument?
(A) Silencing the expression of an opinion is robbing the human race.

I would go with D. I believe some key words that make it that gaining a clearer perception and livelier impression of truth is a great benefit are "they are deprived of" and "they lose what is almost...". Because those individuals could be "deprived of" or "lose", it makes it a benefit to those concerned to share opinions.

In anycase silencing an opinion(right or worng) puts humans at a disadvantage

It's hard when the crowd is against you but I have to step down again... After a string of misleading answers, I think I should resign from being a CEO and leave my position to Anandnk  . Well, I again recognize the mistake in my choice. C is more of an inference from the given facts. A is a more global conclusion which can be drawn. A must be it.
