E.

there is no primary verb (independent clause) in ABC.
has been is wrong in C and D, since the other verbs are past.
So, E.

Agree with E for the reason that is has a verb.
A seemed most correct before I noticed the verb bit.

choices A , B and C are nothing but a series of clauses, none of which is independent.

'E' has a misplaced modifier "....economics, for four decades, is one that was..." The phrase "for four decades" is incorrectly placed before "is one that..." it is not the four decades that has bene dominated, but the econimics that been dominated for 4 decades.
