The slope of the line segment PQ is 2.If P has coordinates (2,r) and Q has coordinates (5,t), what is the value of t-r?

a. 2/3
b. 3/2
c. 2
d. 3
e. 6

Ans = E


Plot the lines. slope = 2/1 which is positive.

From P x-coordinate (2), move 2 steps up and one step over. You'll have to move 3 times to get to 5.
t-r = 6 = # of times you have to move up the y axis.

Got E as well

y = mx + c is the equation

r = 2 * 2 + c
t = 2 * 5 + c
t-r = 2 *( 5-2 ) = 6
