Ans should be A

4^x * (1/3) ^y

= (4^x) /(3^y)

(a) y= 2x

so, (4^x) /(3^y) = (4^x) /(3^2x)

= (4/9)^x <1 ( as x is a positive integer)

sufficient

(b) insufficient

Of course it should be A. OE contradicts the stem

Yes. ItÂ´s an A. (2) is clearly insuff and (1) is suff for the relation btw x and y given.
