The Subjunctive Mood [#permalink]

For the subjunctive mood, are BOTH the cases below fine?
1) S + subjunctive verb (suggest, demand, insist, require, mandate, advocate, propose, ask etc.) + O + TO + bare-infinitive.
Eg: Laxie requires club members to learn grammar.
2) S + subjunctive verb + that + O + bare-infinitive.
Eg: Laxie requires that club members learn grammar.
I've normally come across only number 2. But in one of the older posts on gmatclub, the above was noted. Can someone please help me out with some examples above?
