(A) parallel that of the multitudes of Americans with;----- Parallel that is wrong; it should be --- parallel those--- since symptoms is plural

(B) Parallel those of the multitudes of Americans afflicted with--- correct choice--- use of proper pronoun ------those -- and correct idiom of Americans afflicted with

(C) parallel the multitudes of Americans afflicted with --- wrong comparison; symptoms are compared with multitudes


(D) parallels those of the multitudes of Americans afflicted from--- 1. Parallels is wrong SV error afflicted from is wrong idiom; afflicted with a or suffering from are right expressions


(E) parallels that of the multitudes of Americans afflicted from --- parallels is wrong – SV error; parallels that sworn – the same error as in A.

The symptoms of the participants in a recent decongestant effectiveness study, including a required "stuffy nose," parallel that of the multitudes of Americans with the common cold each winter.
(A) parallel that of the multitudes of Americans with that corresponds to singular. Symptoms is plural - require those
(B) parallel those of the multitudes of Americans afflicted with CORRECT!!! uses plural - those and correct idiom - afflicted with
(C) parallel the multitudes of Americans afflicted with illogical comparison - symptoms to Americans
(D) parallels those of the multitudes of Americans afflicted from afflicted from - incorrect idiom
(E) parallels that of the multitudes of Americans afflicted from that is singular- require those. afflicted from is incorrect idiom

IMO, answer is B
