CLUB / # OF STUDENTS
Polo 60
Lacrosse 50
Soccer 30

The table above shows the number of students on three teams at Timpview School. Although no student is on all three teams, 8 students are on both Polo and Lacrosse, 6 are on both Polo and Soccer, and 4 students are on both Lacrosse and Soccer. How many different students are on the three teams? (Adapted from and mba.com test)

Total number of students = sum of students in the three clubs - number of students that are counted
twice because they belong to more than 1 club

= (60+50+30) - (8+6+4)

=132

Perfect example of "Speed Kills" :-D

(60+50+30) - (8+6+4) = 122.

122 is my answer.

And in the case there are 3 students on all three teams, we have a total of 122+3 = 125, right?
